IN
BRIEF
My
all-time favorite online reseller,
Amazon.com made its debut in books
before branching out into music,
videos, electronics and dozens of
other categories of products. By
joining their affiliate program
and putting their search box on
your site, you can make 5%
commission on most sales generated
by your visitors.
For
the more adventurous webmaster,
various programs exist to
integrate Amazon's search results
seamlessly into your own site.
Some provide the ability to place
Amazon's Top 100 lists on a site;
others buffer Amazon search
requests to give 15% commissions
in place of the usual 5%. Note
that these are not officially
supported by Amazon.com.
RESTRICTIONS
ON USE
No
particular restrictions are
specified.
SAMPLE
SEARCH BOX
The
search box below is one of a
number of different boxes on
offer, with different styles.
GET
THE CODE TO PUT ON YOUR SITE
You
should start by reading the Amazon.com
affiliate information and
check that your website qualifies.
Then you should sign up as an
affiliate. Finally, you'll be able
to access the HTML code you'll
need under the
"Build-A-Link" tab once
you log into Amazon's affiliate
area. Note that you should not cut
and paste the sample code off of
this page - otherwise, you'll be
earning ME commissions every time
your visitors purchase something
off of your site!
